How to become a member
Every spring, applications open up for prospective members and members that want to promote their membership. Be active and present at our events, and then apply in the spring! You must have attended at least 1 full body meeting, and 2 Tri-Beta events to apply. There are 3 types of memberships.
Associate
- 3.0 GPA
- Have a major or minor in biology
Regular
- 3.25 GPA
- Have a major or minor in biology
- Have completed at least 30 credit hours
Graduate
- Have graduated with a bachelors in biology
The cost of the Tau Phi Chapter Regular membership is a one time fee of $60 for national dues and a chapter induction fee. The cost of Associate Membership is a one time fee of $50 for national dues and a chapter induction fee, but once an associate member is eligible for regular membership a one time fee of $10 must be paid for national dues in order to convert the membership from associate to regular. There is also a yearly chapter due fee that will be agreed upon by the executive board of the Tau Phi Chapter of Tri-Beta.
